Low Poly is the Best Poly
I’m not interested in creating realistic worlds and characters. I appreciate the freedom that abstraction allows in story telling. Our brainstormed story is already pretty ridiculous so I would like to create a world that embraces that ridiculousness.
Centering the POV of the Dog
Since our protagonist is a dog, I want to use this opportunity to explore a world from the point of view of a dog. For example, he could weave in an out of his humans’ legs while they’re making out, doing his best to disrupt them and get their attention.
Using the dog’s POV would also give us an opportunity for hilarity like this:
Why Be Realistic When You Can Be Spiderman?
In the same spirit as my low-poly asset search above, I’m interested in exploring how the animation of our hero can take the most advantage of the fact that we are in a completely made up world. We can create the rules and the physics! I look to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for inspiration on non-literal animation and how to represent the experiences of the characters.
Wishlist for Tutorials:
In general, I’d really like to develop the skills necessary to host live performances using the tools we’ve learned in this class. I think there’s a magic to knowing that what you’re watching is happening in real time.
